Would these forums be a suitable place to trade/sell/buy/freecycle old school uniforms, outgrown kids clothes, unwanted furniture, baby needs?
Items that are specifically for a local market - uniforms being area specific, and larger items that don't transport cheaply.

Fantastic idea of a local free market. Sustainable Jamboree love recycling and local activities to help people do things like that!!!! Other existing mechanisms for this online include the following:

http://groups.freecycle.org/freecycle_brisbane/description

Let me know if there's anything Sustainable Jamboree can do to help get your initiative going.

Freecycle is great, however the volume of posts is a bit daunting with so many members across Brisbane.
All freecycling needs is a forum or email group set up, and as CCC already has forums up and running, it seemed to me the website to go to for 'things local'.

Only real requirement would be to add another forum heading for Recycle/Freecycle, and post away
