| Sustainable Jamboree has weighed into the debate about Centenary traffic congestion.
Last week, Cr Matthew Bourke and the Hon Julie Attwood, MP for Mt Ommaney both launched their own separate petitions with the help of local residents. However, this week, in consultation with each of them, Sustainable Jamboree is also issuing their own petitions - one to the Lord Mayor and one to State Parliament.
“We’re simply requesting that governments immediately plan and publicly consult for sustainable transport solutions which will address traffic congestion in a way that minimises instead of generating harmful air and carbon pollution,” says Sustainable Jamboree Convenor, Mrs Ngaire McGaw.
“Our petition has sustainability in mind – it’s environmentally, socially and economically responsible. We think future generations deserve an approach with is sustainable,” she said.
