Centenary Community Connections

In 2000 Centenary Community Connections (CCC) was established as a non-profit community group to support all members of the Centenary Suburbs community.

The aims and objectives of CCC are to:
  • Establish a strong sense of community within the Centenary Suburbs
  • Create a strong sense of belonging in all members of the Centenary Suburbs community
  • Provide a forum for all local groups to share information and resources, discuss common issues, and improve their service to their constituents through improved coordinated community interaction
  • Ensure that families feel supported and that the appropriate services and infrastructure are available when needed
  • Utilise the existing framework of community groups and activities to create a connected community
  • Recognise the value of young peoples contribution by engaging them in leadership and decision making, and guiding the direction of the group into the future
  • Nurture "holistic community health" - fun, wellbeing, happiness and a sense of connection and belonging

Through these aims, CCC hopes to increase discussion and interaction between all members of our community, so that, ultimately, the necessary support and connectedness is organically generated at the grass roots level, and becomes an enduring characteristic of life in the Centenary Suburbs.

In addition to creating our own local network and infrastructure, CCC will actively engage and work with other established groups within the broader Brisbane community, including the Brisbane City Council's drugs prevention projects, GOLD project, the Chill Out project and Visible Ink.
